I thought carefully about what my character’s transformation would be. Somehow, modeling the character after myself seemed like a fairly good idea at the time, so I chose the name Sailor Scorpio. I personally am the typical Scorpio. Then conveniently we had an assignment in English class that allowed leeway for me to write my story as an assignment. Fate obviously favored this project. Looking back on everything, I have come to the very embarrassing realization that my short story fan fiction was a case of “Mary Sue.” A “Mary Sue” is a character addition who “mysteriously” resembles the author and has very special powers, things of that sort. And while I could technically argue as to why it’s different from your average “Mary Sue,” that is not the point of this particular piece. Instead, I will laugh with you at my fifteen-year-old antics, seeing as how the real life “Sailor Scorpio” does not at all resemble the in character “Sailor Scorpio” anymore.
