Leaving the galleries, we’ll next view the character information - or profiles, as they are better known among the fan fictional world. Due to Janelle’s additions of characters to the canon cast, the readers will not be familiar with the characters introduced in her each of her fan fiction series. Notice the image on your right. Our wonderful friend simplicity has struck once again, with the breezy format of an image and a text link to give you both the point and the means to learn more within mere seconds. At this point, it should become clear to my explorers that Janelle will not fail you in the simplicity department. She provides you with the information necessary to navigate her eLiterature, and the readers are left with nothing to worry about in her capable hands. All the reader needs are curiosity and the desire to click a link.
Now that we have entered into a profile of a new character introduced to the canon cast in Sailor Moon Neo, we can pick apart the qualities and information provided within. Each profile comes with a character image, the character’s significance in the story, a birthday, age, sun sign, favorite color, likes, dislikes, family, a short biography, and a description of the character’s “attacks.” The reader can fairly quickly find the qualities of simplicity, visibility, creativity, and materiality all present in each profile for each individual character: the information is provided in a simple, easily accessible format; the reader can visualize the character, both in appearance and personality; Janelle creates a new character to add to the canon cast; and the new character becomes a tangible individual in the story.
As our exploration of Janelle J.’s “Sailor Moon Millenia Trilogy” comes to a close, we will visit the forum she has provided her readers with to voice their opinions, interact with other readers, and share other information. This ability to interact with the author and other readers so easily despite locational distances is a quality fairly exclusive to eLiterature. Conventional books, magazines, newspapers, etc. aren’t as easily accessible, and the accessibility range tends to be confined to one’s own traveling radius. Without a source of transportation and the proper connections, one cannot interact so easily with authors and readers of conventional literature. The ability to interact brings the world fairly closer together relatively. Hopefully this exhibit has served the purpose to introduce the qualities of simplicity, visibility, creativity, materiality, and interaction as these qualities will later be showcased in the following exhibits.
