Now that we have explored the multitude of eLiterature we can find on DeviantART, let’s delve into information about some of the authors. I found an author who uses the nickname “Miserie” for her account. Jaclyn West’s information can be found on this first page of her personal section of the eLibrary. We can learn that she is an illustrator by self-proclamation, read her weblog discussing whatever personal or impersonal information she chooses to share with her audience, view her artwork, and even find links to other authors she associates with. The beauty of DeviantART is that an author can befriend and associate with other authors and interact on a different level from the conventional author. The quality of interaction is a many forked road on which millions and millions of people, readers and authors alike, can congregate, learn more about each other, and share works and ideas with one another.
Taking a closer look at the toolbar offered on each author’s webpage, we can find even more options for viewing eLiterature, finding authors, and interacting with the author. We can view the author’s gallery and enjoy all the works s/he has to offer. Perhaps afterwards we could “thumb” through the prints s/he has available for purchase if we so desired. Later we can scan the scrapped works the author may not have particularly enjoyed for whatever reason. We can learn more about the author on his or her journal or by sending him or her a message. Then we can leave the author’s page to find a new author that will also fit with our tastes.
We finally review the gallery of an author by the nickname of “-tempus-.” This author obviously enjoys dabbling in photography as we can plainly tell by his gallery. The simplicity in the gallery layout makes finding a photo of choice relatively fast and easy -- unless, of course, the author has not taken photographs of the reader’s own tastes. However, the general purpose of the many uses of DeviantART becomes quite obvious. Its extensive collection of eLiterature and art can satisfy nearly any taste, and the sheer wealth of literary qualities also found in conventional literature as well as those exclusive to eLiterature can give even the novice eReader a good sense of what eLiterature is. As we end our tour through eLiterature, we have learned that eLiterature can be a variety of different writing or artistic styles and that no one will go unhappy in the world of eLiterature.
