Skipping ahead past several moves, awkward situations, and other such nonsense, we find ourselves in the year 1999. It was in this year that I truly became infatuated with the art form of Japanese anime, which we will refer to as “anime” from this point on. The popular series “Sailor Moon” lured me into this world. After a few weeks spent watching this program every weekday, I had the urge to draw in the same style of the program. I always was the sort of child to color pictures for relatives to affix to their refrigerators. One day, I sat down with a recorded episode and paused the video. I set out to work, meticulously sketching and erasing until I felt the picture was just right. It was all over right there -- I absolutely had to create my own character, no, many characters, my own alternate universe! And so began my endeavors to write a work of fan fiction, complete with fan art.
